Section model was 3d printed in four chunks on the GSD dremels. Oil board covering was laser cut and glued on with white glue. Model base was constructed so that model could sit inside the base (notched) or be free standing when removed from the base.

The 3d printed pieces were glued together then spray painted yellow, then the oil board exterior was glued on.

Based on the geometry section model held together even when removed from base, I didn ftt create any special joints to hold them together.

Our studio was assigned this somewhat unusual material to be incorporated in the model called oil board. It’s cheap, easy to laser or cut by hand, and has an interesting unfinished texture.
