Located primarily in the basement of Gund Hall, the Fabrication Lab contains facilities for CNC routing, Zünd cutting and marking, a wood shop, metal shop and machine shop, laser cutting, 3D printing (FDM and polyjet), 3D scanning, painting, plaster casting, sewing, general project assembly space, a small materials store, and more.
Additional facilities are located adjacent to the studio spaces in Gund Hall and 485 Broadway: the 3rd floor 3D Printing room, the hotwire foam cutters in the north studio alcoves on the 3rd and 5th floors, the Spray Room (518), and Workroom 225 at 485 Broadway.
The Fabrication Lab is intended for the use of the faculty, staff, and students enrolled in courses at the Graduate School of Design pursuing academic work. Please see our Policies page for more information.
