Training

All new and returning users of the Lab need to complete online training prior to resuming access to Lab resources:

• New Users:
  • Please complete training prior to the start of the semester.
  • Allow about 5 hours to complete all courses.
• Returning Users:
  • The annual Refresher is assigned to all returning users of the Lab annually.
  • For the 2026/27 Academic Year, a new version of the 3D Printing Training that includes updates to hardware and software made over the summer is required of all 3D printing users regardless of prior training completion.

All online training is available throughout the year and can be completed at your own pace. However, we recommend completing it as soon as possible, to avoid disruption or delayed access later.

Completions in the Training Portal are retrieved at 4 AM and 4 PM, daily. Access systems may require up to 90 minutes to reflect changes. Individuals can check the record of their Lab training and access credentials through the “User Record” screen of the FabJob App.

This year, significant updates to training include:

• Updates to Lab Use Policies
• 3D Printing Workflow: Devices and Cloud Slicer

For returning students, faculty and staff, the Fabrication Lab Refresher course has been assigned to you and must be completed to regain access to resources. It is generally not necessary to retake any training you had completed previously (an exception is the new version of the 3D Printing Training published for the Fall 2026 semester).

Visit the FabJob App and click on the “User Record” button to view the record of your completed training.This record is updated twice a day, shortly after 4 AM and 4 PM.
