Instruction
- Equipment Overview:
- Point of Operation: The point of operation is at 3 points on the machine and for the operator, at the lever arm
- Pinch/Nip points: Pinch points can occur between the shear and lower table, between the brake inserts and brake plate, between the upper rollers, between the machine body and upper guard, between the lever arm and machine, and between the machine and the table
- Unguarded rotating parts: None
- Preparation:
- Complete required orientations and sign into the metal shop log
- Put on all required PPE
- Inspect the machine components for proper installation
- Set up the machine for the desired operation (shear, brake, or slip roller)
- Ensure the work area is clear of any obstructions or hazards
- Verify that the appropriate safety guards are in place and secure
- There is a limitation in the size of material you can use in terms of height, width and thickness
- The maximum dimensions of this machine are written on the red metal tab fixed to the top
- Please be advised that cutting metal thicker than this dimension can result in personal injury and/or a mechanical failure in the machine itself
- Verify that the 3 in 1 machine is firmly bolted down before performing any operation
- Operation:
- Position the material correctly in the machine
- Turn on the machine and perform the operation
- Use moderate pressure and ensure hands are clear of pinch points
- Monitor the operation to ensure consistent material handling
- Adjust the machine settings as needed for different material types and thicknesses
- Finishing:
- Turn off the machine and wait for it to stop.
- Remove the material and inspect for accuracy and quality.
- Clean the machine and surrounding area.
- Record the completion of your task in the metal shop log.
- 3 in 1 Operation:
- Shear Operation: The shear cuts sheet metal into clean, straight pieces, ideal for resizing larger sheets or making precise cuts.
- Brake Operation: The brake bends sheet metal at precise angles, perfect for creating custom shapes like brackets and enclosures.
- Slip Roll Operation: The slip roll forms sheet metal into curves or cylindrical shapes, useful for making tubes and other rounded parts.
