- Thanksgiving Holiday ClosureThe Fabrication Lab will not be staffed on Thursday, November 27th. Some areas will resume staffing at 10 AM on Friday.

Location: Gund L31A
The metal shop is equipped with equipment for welding, cutting, bending, and grinding steel, aluminum, and other metals. While most processes are performed by individual users, precision machining and welding can be accommodated by speaking with Lab staff and technical assistants. As with other areas of the Lab, all materials must be supplied by the individual user.
In addition to the training required for all Lab users, those needing use of the metal shop must also complete the Woodshop Training as well as in-person training based on their project needs.
Metal Shop Hours
The Metal Shop is typically open:
- Monday to Thursday 6-10 PM
- Saturday 12-8 PM
- Sunday 4-8 PM
Check the Calendar to determine when Technical Assistants are on duty or whether the space is closed.
